Novels written by celebrities/reality TV stars can sometimes be a little hit and miss, not living up to the expectations and hopes of the reader. I can wholeheartedly say that this is not the case with the novels written by Georgia Toffolo. Having read ‘Meet me in London’ soon after it was released I jumped at the opportunity to read her latest novel, ‘Meet Me in Tahiti’ as an ARC provided by NetGalley.
Those that have read either Meet me in London or Meet me in Hawaii will know the 4-part series features the challenges, romances and friendship of Victoria, Lily, Zoe and Malie. Meet Me in Tahiti features Zoe, who was left wheel chair bound after a car accident when the girls were teens. Even before the accident, it seems everybody wants to “save” Zoe or protect her from the trials, tribulations and hurts in life. This understandably frustrates Zoe who doesn’t desire to be saved and wants people to see past her wheels or prematurity as a baby and view her as the strong, independent woman she is. It is clear from the outset, that Toffolo has created an admirable, determined and likeable female character.
Although Zoe has reached her career aspirations, she feels something is missing from her life and this is where bad boy Finn enters our story. Zoe and Finn meet again in the most unexpected circumstances and the description of their chemistry blew me away however, is there too much water under the bridge for them to make it? Or does love conquer all?
Meet me in Tahiti is one of those illusive 5* reads, it kept me reading all night and I devoured it in just a few days desperate to know how the story of Zoe and Finn ends. A perfect summer story, I wish I was relaxing on the Tahiti beach, snorkelling with the clams and smelling those beautiful flowers. If you’re looking for a romantic, feel-good and easy read you won’t be disappointed by this purchase!
